Emma Harm

Emma Harm graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Communications (Design), majoring in Photography—a degree that gained her a job in the publishing industry, where she has worked for fifteen years. For nearly a decade, Emma has been responsible for managing the image library of award-winning wildlife photographer Steve Parish, a task that includes assisting Steve, as well as shooting her own images of wildlife, architecture, cityscapes and landscapes for use in the company’s publications.

Emma’s initial passion for architectural photography and capturing the abstractions and symmetry of buildings, soon expanded into photographing the natural environment when she moved from Sydney to South-East Queensland. Exploring nature and wild places, and photographing outdoor experiences and the animals found there—whether in the bush, on the water or in the backyard—is a pastime she finds incredibly rewarding. Emma has also been involved in judging many photographic competitions, both for Steve Parish Publishing and for external events and competitions. She enjoys helping novice photographers realise their dreams and also administers the Photograph Australia website and forums, which are committed to providing a public space for keen photographers to share ideas, images and encouragement.
