WABA presents a unique one-day seminar, Nature Photography in the Digital Age, with award-winning Australian photographer Steve Parish.

All sessions start and finish on time, and includes time for questions and answers.

No camera equipment is required to participate in the seminar, but photography and recording is permitted.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Discover Wildlife: Art and Science,  A Multidisciplinary Symposium with Steve Parish as one of the guest speakers

This multidisciplinary symposium will highlight the contribution of Australian wildlife artists to Australian history, science, conservation and culture. A range of topics will be covered from Indigenous art, natural history illustration, through to contemporary expressions of wildlife art and sculpture.

The symposium will explore the links between art and science, wildlife conservation, advocacy and education through art, as well as discussions about innovation and ideas for the future of wildlife art in Australia.

Speakers include well-known Australian wildlife artists Peter Trusler, Richard Weatherly, Pete Marshall, Mali Moir and Noel Hart. Other speakers include well-known Australian photographers Steve Parish and Raoul Slater, University of Newcastle’s Ann Llewellyn, Waterhouse Prize founder Mark Judd and many others.

As places are limited, we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.

Storytelling with a Camera with Steve Parish – Just for Kids

Embark on an adventure through photography with award-winning photographer Steve Parish as he introduces children to the methods he uses to develop storylines for children’s books about Australian wildlife. He will share his favourite story Toby Goes to School and how Toby, the hairy-nosed wombat, came to be such a star. Then, for the first time, with living animals as the stars, he will create a storyline with the kids live on stage. Parents and carers are welcome. You will not need to bring cameras, however if you wish to that’s fine.

This is a FREE workshop suitable for children aged 7–11 years. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

As places are limited, we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.

Join professional photographers – Steve Parish and Kingsley Klau for a two day workshop at Peel Zoo and the Rockingham Region.

Hands on with a master nature photographer, Steve will guide you through many techniques for shooting close ups and telephoto images of spectacular species; species you may not ever see in the wild. The weekend workshop facilitates four hours of practical live animal photography. The animals are all calm, well managed by experts and have been carefully raised for educational purposes by licensed experts
