Kids love having someone read children's storybooks to them. Most parents enjoy reading storybooks as well, and delight in seeing their child's reactions to events unfolding within the pages of the story. Many children, however, also can't wait until the day they will be able to read their favourite storybooks themselves. Each reader includes two stories: an adult-read storybook component and child-read key words. Adults read the left-hand page of the storybook to the child, as if reading a normal storybook. The child then reads the right-hand page to the adult, improving their literacy skills. This page is designed to help the child learn to read. It encourages the child to copy the adult's literacy skills, and to take pride in their own growing reading awareness.
